I think it's official!

I received an email from Holt's Thailand program today, welcoming us to the program, so I think it's official! We now have the LONG list of documents we need to compile for our dossier, and I'm ready to get working on it, so we can speed this process up, as much as possible. I really have no clue what I'm doing, but I'm a fast learner! :-)

Seat Belts are Buckled.....

Well, we finally did it! We've talked about it for years, but now we're officially in the process of adopting! We decided on Thailand, and contrary to what I thought, it ended up being a pretty easy decision. It just felt like God led us to the country where he wanted us, and so far, he's already shown his hand in the process. Our international agency, Holt International, only briefly opened their Thai program up to accept only 25 families, and we were able to get in, during that small window of opportunity, so that was enough confirmation for me! We've submitted our initial application, it's been forwarded to the Thai program within Holt, I've spoken with the director, and I've spoken with our homestudy agent. So, things are moving along pretty quickly so far! We should hopefully be able to begin our homestudy process within the next 2 weeks and it should take about 3 months to complete. Now, that being said, we are prepared for a LONG RIDE and an, overall, slow process that will, undoubtedly, test our patience (especially mine!), but we also know that good things come to those that wait! We've been told that typical wait times from initial application to having our child home (I already get excited just saying that!) is about 2 years. Throughout the last several months, as we've been praying and researching, I've read so many blogs I can't count, and they've been so inspirational to me, so I thought I would do the same, and hopefully, mine would also inspire others. So, if you're reading this and you're considering adoption, I hope that following our journey encourages you to follow through with it, and if you're just reading this to see where we're at, then please say a prayer for us and our future baby girl! :-)
